He was born on October 1, 1964, in Norman, Oklahoma to the late Frederick Lowell and Norma Christine (MacDonald) Thomas.
He married Nancy Daum on Feb 14, 2004, in Fredericksburg. Together for 22 wonderful years, they raised two beautiful children building a life of love and laughter.
Chris earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 1984 and later obtained his Professional Engineer license. He worked as a civil engineer for the past 40 years, finishing his career as the Assistant Director of Utilities for the City of Fredericksburg.
Chris enjoyed playing the guitar, soccer, golf and fishing. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready for a joke to lighten the mood. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives.
Predeceased by his parents; one brother, Robert Thomas and one brother-in-law, Robert Daum.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy Thomas; two children: Claire and Dylan Thomas; three sisters: Cameron Clement (James), Catherine Morgan (Brad) and Blair Miles (David); one brother in law, Richard Daum (Terri); three sisters in law: Missy Boardman (Andy), Faye Daum and Kim Daum; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM.
