

Cindy Ann Oatman of Stafford Virginia was welcomed home by our Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Cindy was born on January 10, 1967, to John and Ruth Clisham in Lynchburg, Virginia. Cindy was educated in Lynchburg City Schools where she made many lifelong friends and she graduated from Heritage High School.
Cindy loved to dance and progressed through ballet and tap. After modeling in several local ads, she was featured in a three-page spread in Seventeen Magazine. The Eilene Ford Modeling Agency invited Cindy to a New York audition.
In 1987, Cindy found the love of her life, Thomas Elliot Oatman. After dating for three years and becoming best friends, they were joined in marriage on November 17, 1990. Cindy and Tom were blessed with three children and four wonderful grandchildren. Family was the center of her life. Her greatest joy was giving to those she loved. She loved cooking and preparing wonderful meals for her family.
Her life was filled with boating and outdoor adventures, all enjoyed as a family. She traveled extensively, enjoying many trips with family and friends, creating wonderful memories. Cindy had a passion for animals and surrounded herself with pets.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Tom Oatman; daughter, Alexandra Oatman Holt, her husband, Jacob, and their daughters, Abigail Annalie and Elaina Bailey; son, Thomas James Oatman; her mother Ruth Clisham, and her sister Carol Newman. She was Aunt Cindy to many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
First born son, Travis E. Oatman, passed in 2024. He is survived by his wife, Taylor, and his sons Asher Elliott and Wesley James.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, at 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Her Interment will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Virginia Memorial Park, Lynchburg, VA.
Cindy’s light continues to shine through us. We will forever hold her close in mind, heart, and spirit. We will always remember her beautiful smile, and wonderful laughter.
