Claude Payne Stevens

Claude Payne Stevens (81) of Stafford county, VA passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 22, 2022 at Mary Washington hospital surrounded by his children. He handled his many health struggles with dignity and Grace.

Claude is preceded in death by his wife Neda ( Sullivan) Stevens, his brothers Alvery Stevens, Robert “Bobby” Stevens, his sisters Arlene (Stevens) Coates, Audrey (Stevens) Massie, Maude (Stevens) Bourne.

Claude is survived by his children Greg Stevens, and Lisa (Stevens) Adams (Orlintis Adams), his grandchildren Brittany Stevens, CJ Archie, and his great grandchild Madison Higgins, his sister Lucille (Stevens) Bourne, and many nieces and nephews.

Claude worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Grigsby’s refrigeration for over 25 years, he ended his work career at Stafford County Public Schools with 10 years of service.

Claude was a very kind and caring man with a strong work ethic. He made many friends along the way and he will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends and family Friday March 25, 2022 from 6-8pm at Mullins and Thompson. Along with the service being held Saturday March 26, 2022 at 2:00 also at Mullins and Thompson.
