David Joseph Holland

It is with shattered hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son David Joseph Holland, age 45, on June 26, 2026, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA. He was born on April 3, 1981, on Wright – Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, son of David M. Holland, Major, USAF, Retired and Mary B. Holland.

David graduated from North Stafford High School in 2000 and earned a Certificate of Basic Auto Body Repair and Welding from the Woodrow Workforce Vocational Center in 2005. He was a custodian at Waccamaw Elementary in Horry County school, South Carolina since 2021. He loved all the children, teachers and co-workers at Waccamaw Elementary School.

Although his time with us was far too short, David touched the lives of everyone around him. Especially his beloved Billie Carey whom he planned to marry later this year. He was always a kind and loving gentlemen who helped everyone he called his friend. David truly exemplified service to others before self.

He is survived by his loving parents, David M. and Mary B. Holland; sister, Kathryn A. Cheng, brother-in-law Christopher Cheng and nephew, Davin Cheng.

Family will receive friends on July 9 July at 11:00 with a service to follow at 12:00 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg VA 22401. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 1009 Stafford Avenue Fredericksburg, VA 22401 on July 10 at 10:30 for family and friends.
