Duke, as he was known to everyone, was a bright soul who never met a stranger. His smile was contagious and lit up a room. He worked hard all his life and had a strong work ethic. He loved his family, working on cars in his youth and had a passion for cutting grass that continued well into his eighties- a well manicured lawn was his “pride and joy”. He was also an avid user of CB (Citizens Band) radios under the handle “Flagstone” and loved meeting other users in the community.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Alzheimer’s Association.
