Dennis K. McDaniel Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, of 46 years whom is his high school sweetheart; his daughter, Kasie Dee; her son, Alex O McDaniel Baker; his twin sons, Thomas Jay “TJ” McDaniel (Crystal), and Dennis Keith Jr. (Gina); grandchildren, Ava, Natalie, Leland, Colton, and Lilly.

He will also be greatly missed by his sister, Sandra Cannon, of Stafford VA; two brothers, Ed McDaniel, of San Antonio, TX and Jeffery McDaniel of Stafford, VA and their families; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, with an abundance of close friends.

Dennis grew up in Gunston, VA and graduated from Hayfield High School. He was always the one you could turn to and the first one to call if you ever needed anything, he would always give you the shirt off his back. He had such a big heart! He put everyone else first, especially his family. He is the most passionate, loving, and kindhearted person you could ever meet. He found joy with his family, turning wrenches ran in his blood, racing was his passion, but his kids were his everything. His family was his greatest joy. He enjoyed family gatherings that always had a crab and shrimp feast!

Dennis worked for others for most of his life, then started a family business, D&K Heavy Truck Repair. He owned and operated D&K with his family; son’s, daughter, daughter-in-laws, sister-in-law, nephews, brother-in-law, and brother. He sold his business in 2018 to seek another adventure, moving forward went to a different Trucking Company, but soon after he was forced to retire due to his health. After a long battle with a debilitating pulmonary disease, he passed peacefully at home, with his family and many friends by his side. We will forever miss his laugh and the love he showed us all.

A visitation will be held from 4:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel with a celebration of life starting at 5:00pm.
