

Born on September 26, 1941, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Donnie was the beloved son of the late William Weber Hall and Margaret Elizabeth Smith Hall.
A lifelong resident of the Fredericksburg area, Donnie was widely respected as a residential and commercial builder whose work reflected not only exceptional skill, but also his character. A master craftsman and gifted carpenter, he took immense pride in creating things built to last. Whether constructing homes and commercial buildings or simply helping a neighbor with a project, Donnie approached every task with care, integrity, and remarkable attention to detail.
More than anything, Donnie will be remembered for his generous spirit and kind heart. He freely shared his time, talents, and wisdom, always ready to offer encouragement or lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He found great joy in tending his garden, spending time outdoors, and enjoying hunting. His quiet strength, hardworking nature, and unwavering willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his stepson, Ricky Hughes, and his siblings, Rubin Hall, Adrian Hall, Frances Harding, Billy Hall, John Hall, Ruth Ballard, and Horace Hall.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his daughter, Tammy Cleveland (David)and son, Ray Hall (Karen); stepchildren, Wayne Hughes and Debbie Spencer; siblings, Hilda Beach, Ben Hall, Bobby Hall, and Mac Hall; twelve grandchildren, Heather DeMeola, Amy Heim, Lorie Bland, Renee Brown, Ricky Hughes, Devon Hughes, Dylan Hughes, Olivia Cleveland, Catherine Cleveland, Joshua Cleveland, Christian Hall, and Justin Hall; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though his hands built countless homes and buildings, his greatest legacy is the love, kindness, and example he instilled in those around him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services with a reception to follow will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Choice Baptist Church, 16 Burton Loop, Fredericksburg, Virginia, with Pastor Garrett Ericson officiating. The family will hold a private burial at Berea Community Cemetery.
