

Born at University of Virginia Hospital and raised in Covesville, Doris lived most of her life in Northern Virginia. She was a very loving person who cared deeply for her family and friends, and never met a stranger. She spent many years in the workforce in banking, bookkeeping and retired from the federal government as a personnel specialist. She also spent several years doting on her children as a stay-at-home mom. She loved nature and tending the numerous flower beds she cultivated over the years.
Doris was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert L Evans Sr and her oldest son, Jay Craig Evans. She is survived by a daughter, Terri Allen and husband Gary of West Newton, PA, a son Robert L Evans Jr and partner Stephen Maxon of Bumpass, VA, grandsons Jesse Evans, Gary, Chris and Michael Allen and granddaughter Caitlin Allen, as well as 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday Nov 24th and at 10 a.m. Tuesday Nov 25th at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Services, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg, VA. There will be a funeral service at the same location at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with interment at Quantico National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris’ name to The American Lung Association, The Air Force Aid Society, Inc. (241 18th Street South, Suite 202, Arlington, VA 22202) or to a charity of your choice.
