She is survived by her daughters, Linda Novacek (Forrest) of Woodbridge, Virginia, Carol Duncil (Bruce) of Dawsonville, Georgia and Emma (Mike) Seay of Spotsylvania, Virginia. She loved to try new recipes and was an excellent seamstress. Her hobbies included birdwatching and taking care of her many dogs and cats along the years including "Terry Pauline Anabelle May Moxy Renner". Always in search of bargains at local shops, Mrs. Sheffer enjoyed collecting dishes, especially those depicting birds. She developed warm relationships with neighbors who became close friends. She and her husband traveled extensively in the US and into parts of eastern Canada, especially enjoying the beauties of God's creation, especially the national parks, and camping in locations allowing for salmon and trout fishing. She specifically enjoyed hearing elk bulging at Glacier National Park. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Funeral services honoring the life of Doris Renner Sheffer will be private.
