Dorothy Grace Duncan died on Tuesday, September 20, 2022; Dorothy was 64 years young. Family & friends are invited to Dorothy Grace Duncan’s Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We will gather for her viewing at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA. On Monday, September 26, at 3:00 p.m., we will continue celebrating her life with a service at the funeral home. Dorothy was born in Richmond, Virginia, and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia. Dorothy graduated from Garfield Senior High School in 1976. During her time in middle and high school, Dorothy was an avid basketball and baseball player. For the past 20+ years, Dorothy has worked in sales at Atlantic Coast Cotton. Aside from her family, Dorothy’s second love was cooking, baking, and gardening. Every Summer, you could find Dorothy elbow deep in vegetables where she and some of her sisters would “can" their harvest. Dorothy was a member of Lifepoint Church and found strength and comfort in her daily readings of the bible. Dorothy was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She treasured her daughter Wendi and loved being Madi and Alivia's grandmother. She never met a stranger. If she was your friend, she was your friend for life. She always had your back. She cared for those around her and made the best Christmas cookies and fudge you've ever eaten. She had more energy than anyone you've ever known. If you asked for her help, she always said yes. She was the loving wife to her husband, Charles Duncan. She is survived by daughter Wendi Newcomer, stepson Chase Duncan, granddaughters Madisen Newcomer and Alivia Newcomer, her sister Margaret Englisby and husband Denis Englisby, sister Teresa Bosher, sister Ann Wilson and husband Kent Wilson, sister Catherine Countiss and husband, Justin Countiss as well as countless nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She will be desperately missed by all.
