

Betty Ann Hensley, 85, a resident of Hidden Springs Senior Living since December 2023 and formerly of Front Royal and Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away on May 12, 2026. Betty was born on October 7, 1940. Betty was the beloved daughter of the late Frank Jack Jackson and Constance (Manning) Jackson and was preceded in death by her brother James "Jimmy" Jackson, Barbara Ann Jackson, sister Barbara Jean (Jackson) Dean, and Great Grandson Walter Edwin Hensley.
Betty was married to the love of her life, John Andrew Hensley of Bridgewater, Virginia, for 63 wonderful years until his passing on April 13, 2022. Betty and John were deeply loved and cherished by their large family.
She is survived by her children, John A. Hensley, Jr. and wife Joanne (Morrison) Hensley of Front Royal, VA, Barbara ( Hensley) Peterson and husband, John Peterson of Schuyler, VA, Cindy (Hensley) White and husband George White of Newport News, VA and Kathryn Hensley of Strasburg, VA. along with her grandchildren, John Edwin Hensley, Renee (Hensley) Eastwood and her husband, Joshua Eastwood, Mary Hensley, Bradley A. Petitt and wife Danielle Petitt, Gregory M. Petitt, Ansley R. Petitt, Erika White, Ashley Rasmussen, T.J. Skaggs and wife, Annie (Dongoski) Skaggs, Kailey (Skaggs) St. Clair and husband, Michael St. Clair. Betty also leaves behind 16 treasured great-grandchildren.
Betty worked nearly 30 years with A&P Grocery, where she built many lasting friendships through her dedication and hard work. In her retirement years, she enjoyed assisting clients with buying and selling homes with Coldwell Banker Real Estate and found great joy in volunteering with C-CAP in Front Royal, Virginia. Betty and John were members of the First Baptist Church of Front Royal and Betty built many friendships with Christian Womens' Club.
Betty will be remembered for her kindness, strong work ethic, devotion to family, and willingness to help anyone in need. Her warmth and caring spirit touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten. The family will never forget the professional and loving care Betty received at Hidden Springs.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Betty's life on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 14 W. 1st Street, Front Royal, VA 22630.
