Eric was a man of many titles. Devoted husband to his wife Peggy, dedicated father to his children Bunny and Jacob, beloved son, friendly neighbor, passionate member of the Catholic church, and an ardent caretaker of his dog Jasmine and his many chickens. Eric was detail oriented, and instilled in his children the same beliefs of always thinking decisions through before acting upon them. He was a man with a plan, and kept many notes and records to keep him on track, from daily tasks, to new passion projects.
Eric was always busy up until his last day. He was passionate about photography and passed that love for capturing the perfect shot onto his eldest child, Bunny. He was a wonderful engineer, and adamantly maintained his home and all the inner workings of his family life, and inspired his son Jacob to pursue a degree in finance. He was, as mentioned prior, a deeply devoted husband, ensuring his wife Peggy was provided for completely, even in his passing.
Many of you who knew Eric personally will remember him as a kind and even sometimes playful man, who lived to serve Christ and by extension, his family and community. Eric will remain in our hearts as a man who, despite his earthly flaws, strived to live a life mirroring that of the Lord our God, Jesus Christ. Beyond the realm of death, which those of us left behind cannot see into, Eric remains with us in the spirit of love. He will continue his legacy in our memories, and most importantly, our hearts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; daughter, Bunny Stevens; son, Jacob Stevens; parents, Loui and Rosalia Stevens; two brothers, Loui Stevens Jr. and Anthony Stevens; and sister, Maryann Austin.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel from 6-8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
