Fae Jernigan Massey

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Capt. Roger Massey; daughter, Rhonda Belyea and husband Bruce; two sons, Dr. Ren Massey and R. Lloyd Massey and wife, Dr. Cynthia Massey; two granddaughters, Lt. Ashley Belyea and husband, Keith Proctor, and Emily Dickey and husband, Brett Dickey; and one great grandson, Luke.

Many appreciated Fae’s sweetness, but she could also be feisty, mischievous, and determined. She loved to laugh, sing, dance, and be with those she cherished. Before dedicating herself to being a homemaker, Navy wife, and mother, she was an artist and taught 3rd grade children. She also worked in an art gallery and as a realtor, while helping her family move more than a dozen times with the Navy. She enjoyed travel and meeting new people, making friends wherever she went.

An Appreciation of Life service will be held today at 230 pm at The Crossings, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Interment will be at a later date.
