Howard Edward Mervine Sr.

Howard Edward Mervine, Sr., 88 of Fredericksburg passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Howard was born in Frackville, Pennsylvania to Archibald and Anna Mervine. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and later retired from the Federal Government. He was an amazing father and grandfather and is survived by a daughter, Christine Winterstine (Raymond); two sons, Francis Mervine (Janet), and Lawrence Mervine (Ronda), a daughter-in-law Tamara Mervine, along with 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Irene Mervine and son, Howard Mervine, Jr. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to service for visitation. Interment of Howard and his wife will be private ceremony in Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to St Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
