He was born on October 29, 1956, in Unionville, Pennsylvania to the late Howard Edward Snow, Jr. and Mariam E. (Nixon) Snow.
Howie was wonderful storyteller at heart. He loved sharing memories from his years in the Marine Corps, recounting adventures, lessons learned, and the colorful characters he met along the way. He had a gift for turning everyday moments into memorable stories. Quick-witted and never far from a clever retort, he enjoyed making people laugh as much as making them think. He was an avid reader and writer, always eager to learn something new and share it with others. Above all, he was proud of his children and took great joy in their accomplishments, never missing an opportunity to tell a story about them whenever he had the chance.
The Marine Corps shaped much of Howie's professional life and remained one of his greatest sources of pride. He served 24 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, and continued his commitment to public service in government, including an appointment in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs and serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Installations and Facilities. He went on to build a successful career in the private sector where he leveraged his military and government experience to build networks and strategic partnerships for a broad range of clients. Later, Howie continued a legacy in public interest where he served on the board of directors for multiple organizations; most notably with the Young Marines, which he enjoyed immensely.
Throughout his life, he remained dedicated to mentoring others and giving back to the Marine Corps community. His legacy of service, leadership, humor, and devotion to family will live on in the countless lives he touched.
Predeceased by his parents and a brother, Joseph Snow.
