

James was born in Christiansburg, VA on October 29, 1962 to Dalona Hylton.
He graduated from Christiansburg High School in 1981. Soon after he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1983 as a heavy equipment operator. He earned multiple medals while he was serving in the corps. Shortly after he started his family.
James is survived by his mother, Dalona Hylton; his wife, Dolly Hughes; his two brothers; and two sisters; his children, Crystal Cox (Donald), Jescin Beaulieu (Catherine), Kenneth Hughes (Jessica); and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also a loving God Father to two.
James was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved with his all! He loved the Redskins and Jeff Gordon. He worked for Paradise Estates for over 20 years. He dedicated his all into work. If anyone ever needed him he was just a call away.
James loved to drink his Budweiser and play horseshoes. He just loved being with family and friends. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because he was able to have everyone together.
James, all in all was a great person He had the biggest heart. He definitely lived his life to the fullest and didn’t care what others thought. He left a mark on a lot of people's hearts. He will be missed by many.
A visitation for James will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 12:30 PM, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401. An interment will occur Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA 22172.
