James was born on November 27, 1952 in Nelson County, Virginia to the late Preston James and Jesse May Jones. He is survived by his three sons; Michael S. Phipps and his wife Joyce, James R. Jones Jr. and his girlfriend Jill, and Jason T Jones. Four grandchildren; Kayla, Megan, Trey, and Christian; as well as many siblings.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his late wife & love of his life Mary L. Jones, and his brother Roger Jones.
James was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a great friend too many. He loved his sons unconditionally and would do anything for them. James also loved fishing, hunting, shooting matches, and just riding around telling stories and making memories with his sons. James was a plumber by trade and enjoyed every minute doing it and he would make friends anywhere he would go.
He will be forever missed by many but never forgotten. Rest in paradise and fly high with the Angels.
