James is survived by his wife, Bonnie Payne; his sons James Leroy Payne, Jr., of Leonardtown, MD, Joseph Allen Payne (Molly) of St. Leonard, MD; his daughters Louise Pritchard of Leonardtown, MD and Tracy Marie Payne (Joey) of Callaway, MD; his stepsons Steven Russnak (Kathy) and William Russnak of Spotsylvania, VA; his sisters Mary Rose Payne Burch (Norman) of Mechanicsville, MD, Evelyn Estelle Payne Morgan (Sam) of Mechanics, MD and Elizabeth “Betty” Josephine Payne Lacey of Hollywood, MD; and numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Johnson Payne, Sr. and Genevieve Beatrice Raley Payne of Leonardtown, MD and his brothers, Joseph Johnson Payne, Jr. (Louise) of Leonardtown, MD, George Raley Payne (Ginger) of Mathias, WV and David Alan Payne of Leonardtown, MD.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the family’s hometown in Maryland.
