

James known by most by Jim, he was the son of Admiral James Chisolm Tison and Nan Sinkler Tison of Charleston, SC.
He was an alcoate as a youngster at The Grace Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA. when his father was stationed at The Pentagon. He Attended St. Agnes grade school in Alexandria, VA. Episcopal School; Seminary Road, Alexandria VA., and Hill School; Pottstown, PA. after graduating from Brown University; Providence, RI in 1957. Jim worked at Armstrong Cork and Boening Aviation in the State of Washington. He moved to Palais Verdes; Rolling Hills Estates, CA. He set up plants in Japan and China for ITT Cannon for 30 years was an Industrial Engineer with a Masters Degree.
He came out East and married Ellen Porter of Issue MD. They together resided for 33 years in Colonial Beach VA.
Jim is survived by his wife Ellen, Porter Tison; son, James Sinkler Tison II and his wife, Deb of New Milford, CT; grandson, Michael James Tison and fiancé Kim of Portland, OR; brothers, John Huger Tison and wife Jackie of Charleston, SC and Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Bette G. Tyler of Alexandria, Va; Nephews; Les Tyler and wife Teresa of Madison VA. Glenn Tyler and wife Cindy of Alexandria, VA and Colonial Beach VA., Neale Tyler and wife Anna of Belmont Bay Woodbridge, VA.
Sister-n-Law Sharon Pollamus of Stafford VA.; Nephew Edgar Dell Porter III and Tracy of Stafford, VA. and cousins in Charleston, SC. and Cousins in Beaufort, SC.
Jim was members of Amvets; Elks in CA. and Colonial Beach, VA., Eagles Colonial Beach, VA. VFW; Colonial Beach, VA.
