Jean Summers Mills

Jean Louise Summers Mills, 86 of Woodford peacefully passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on February 3, 2015. She was the widow of Jean A. Mills to whom she was married for 54 years before he passed away in 2000. She was born on January 27, 1929, to Clarence Daniel and Martha Louise Summers and had an identical twin sister, Jane.

Mrs. Mills is survived by her three children, Marilyn M. Graves (George), Clarence L. Mills (Lynn) and Gloria M. Blake (Mickey); her grandchildren, Tammy Osborne (Scott), Thomas M. Graves (Marion), Mark Lynn, Jeffrey Graves (Andrea), Carl Blake (Venus), Katie Shultz (Chris), 12 great grandchildren and her sister Mary Ellen Swisher (David). She is predeceased by her grandson, Jonathan Blake, and her siblings, Jane Krieger, Glenn Summers, James Summers and Ralph Summers.

She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Guinea.

Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service Fredericksburg Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday February 8, 2015 where a funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. with Rev. Howard Satterwhite conducting the service, interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden in Fredericksburg. A reception will follow the interment at Upper Caroline Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers the family expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Jean’s name to Upper Caroline Fire Department, 12581 Stonewall Jackson Rd., Woodford, Va. 22580
