Jennifer Rena Murrell

She was born on February 7, 1993, in Iwakuni, Japan to Gary Gregory and Keiko (Nakamo) Kurkowski.

Jennifer’s first passion in life was dance. She started dance at a very young age and then began playing soccer as well. She was on varsity dance throughout her whole high school career at Brooke Point. She became varsity captain her sophomore year. After high school Jenn became the JV dance coach at Brooke point.

Jenn and Jake began dating in 2008. In 2012 Jenn and Jake moved into their first home and married each other in 2015. In 2018 they moved into their forever home and she dedicated a lot of time to renovating the house. She loved doing home improvements and took pride in doing them herself with Jake.

In 2019 Jennifer gave birth to Lucy. The following year she gave birth to Jayce. Jenn was a great Mother and loved spending as much time as she could with the kids. One of her favorite things to do was to go to concerts and take the kids to any sort of concert or event that they could go to. She also loved going to Capitals games and taking the kids when possible.

Jenn also loved spending time with her family and friends and has many friends from since she was a child.

Predeceased by her brother Lucas Kurkowski.

Survivors include her parents: Gary G. and Keiko Kurkowski; her husband Jacob J. Murrell; two children: Lucille F. and Jayce L. Murrell and numerous extended family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA. A Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
