John William Butler

He was born on April 17, 1956 in Norfolk, VA, the son of the late Luther Bryan and Mary Belle (Davis) Butler, Jr. Mr. Butler retired as a Civil Engineering Technician and a Network Engineer for the US Government. John was an avid boater and fisherman. John was a member of the Ukrainian National Shrine of the Holy Family, Washington DC.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Butler a brother, Richard A. Butler and a grandson John Paul Maestre Butler.

Survivors include his loving wife, Robyn M. Butler; three sons, Peter Butler and wife Alicia of Chester, VA, Thomas Butler of Richmond, VA, Philip Butler and wife Korey of Morrisville, NC; one daughter, Catherine Maestre and husband John of Fredericksburg, VA; one brother, Robert F. Butler and wife Judy of Fredericksburg, VA; one sister Claudia Clayton and husband Jim of Richmond, VA, and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm Monday, April 1, 2019 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
