John Henry Rogers, 74 of Fredericksburg passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, March 3, 2019 at his home. John was born April 12, 1944 in Union, South Carolina, son of the late James Rogers and Agatha Thompson Rogers.
John spent his early years working on The House of Representatives for The Bureau of Engraving in Washington, D.C. Later John went on to go on tour, write songs, and sing with popular Motown groups. He spent his life learning many things that he shared with anyone it would help. He was a Mason, a woodcrafter, an avid fisherman, and there was nothing he couldn’t build.
John is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda F. Rogers, his sister Penola Rogers, his five children Thomas Young, John J. Rogers, Lorenzo A. Rogers, Lakeisha M. and Mike A. Lawrence, and Keylacy Rogers. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren who he adored and loved. He will be missed greatly by all.
The family will be holding a celebration of life for John on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
