Joseph Hardy Fulford

He was born on December 29, 1934, in Aurora, NC, to the late Coley Armstead Fulford and Lucy Flowers Fulford.

Joe was a US Air Force veteran of 20 years, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant, and a 40-year member of Highway Assembly of God.

He was a genuine man, a strong believer in Christ, and a patriotic American. Joe possessed a ready smile and a great sense of humor. Above all, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Hall Fulford and all of his siblings; Mary Lupton, Ray Fulford, Hilda Fulford, Manford Fulford, Roger Fulford, and Gary Fulford.

He is survived by his children, Joel Patrick Fulford and his wife Monica of Macon, GA, Angela Marie Lawson-Smith of Fredericksburg, Jeffrey Scott Fulford and his wife Tracy of Spotsylvania, and Rebecca Ann Fulford of Spotsylvania; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg from 6:00-8:00 PM. A service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
