He was born on February 10, 1978, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts to the late Joseph Alves III and Pamela (Brandford) Alves.
Joey graduated from McLean High School in 1998. Joey loved playing basketball, going fishing, swimming, listening to music, going out to eat and most importantly spending time with his family.
Survivors include three sisters: Tenika Alves, Ashley Alves and Ebony Grant-Berryman (Jabar) and their children: Janiyah, Treshawn and Samiyah; aunt Cheryl Tyler and uncle Albert Brandford.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
