He is survived by his son, Joseph Sweeney; daughter, Diane Christopher; two brothers, William Sweeney and Michael Sweeney; and 4 grandchildren, Danielle Zupo, Jessica Christopher, Briana Sweeney, and Alyssa Brown and 3 great grandchildren, Isla Brown, Rosalia Zupo, and Rune Brown.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda; parents, George and Margaret Sweeney, and brother, George Sweeney.
The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be in his name to the American Cancer Society.
