The Broken Chain:

We little knew that morning

God was going to call your name,

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

You did not go alone;

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories,

Your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you,

You are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken

And nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one,

The chain will link again.

Josh, the news of your passing hit me like a ton of bricks. I was not prepared for this. God knows when we have completed our journey on this earth. I remember you as a young boy coming over to Glendale to play with Patrick and the other boys in the neighborhood. I was glad to see you as a grown man at Patrick and Jaime’s wedding. I was happy to see the father you were to Nevaeh. We will miss you so rest in the arms of Jesus.

We started working together, then we became family! I miss our late night, early morning phone calls. All the goofy messages we used to send to each other! How you lived every minute for Nevaeh! I miss you so very much! We were more than just friends, we became family! Fly high My Joshy!

It's been so many years but our dad's grew up as brother's and us and Jordan as cousins! I remember the 18 hour trips we all took from Virginia to Florida for summer time woth our dad's! We even locked out our babysitter one time! Josh's idea! Haven't seen him in years but we always stayed connected! So many good memories!

As far back as I can remember, there wasn’t a family gathering for any reason that didn’t include the Leckie family and ours. We were always important in each other’s lives no matter what.
Dale City was our hometown and it resides the fondest in my heart because of who I grew up with and what they leave me with.
My mom Diane and Josh’s mom Joyce(Aunt Joyce) we’re best friends and what better baby sitter than one she already knew and trusted. By the age of 8 or 9, Joyce had little by little given me small opportunities to watch over Josh and eventually I changed many a diaper(cloth mind you) and shared many a grin with Josh as a baby, and toddler and so-on♥️
I will never go back to a memory of Josh that doesn’t include a smile and loving affection. He and his younger brother Jordan I feel, will always be my kid brothers from another mother.
Rest peacefully Joshua Gavin🙏🏻
