Julia Lee Crawford

Julia Lee Crawford, 89 of Spotsylvania VA, formerly of Memphis TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Born November 11, 1932 to the late Frank Edwards and Alice McIntyre, the youngest of 27 children. She was baptized at Mount Moriah Baptist Church at an early age and then obeyed the gospel at Norris Road Church of Christ (formerly Vance Avenue CoC) in Memphis TN and served the Lord faithfully until death. Julia was a CNA for the Methodist University Hospital for nearly 20 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving family, her daughter Javonnia Lavender and husband Christopher; three grandchildren, Christopher Lavender II, Dominique Lavender and Joshua Lavender; two great grandchildren, Chloe and Drew; close nieces and nephews, Mattie Lee James-Williamston, Inez Brown, Jeanetta and Gerald Patterson, Mary Conley; Walter Edwards; close great niece and great nephews Elise Brown, Trina and Shaun Evans, Karen Williamston, Angela Williamston, Charlene Williamston-Alcime and Leroy Alcime, Calvin Williamston Jr.; close cousins Margaret Hill, Dorothy Rayford, and Mary Parker Kincade; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Crawford; 26 sisters and brothers, Bettye Mae Cowans, Essie Morrow, Zelia Edwards Tillmon, Mary Edwards Tillmon, Hattie Edwards, LeFlore Edwards, Viddie LeFlore, Gladys Edwards, Stella Edwards, Ruthie Mae Edwards, Jaddie Edwards, Morie Edwards, Charlie Re Parker, Arthur Edwards, Walter Edwards, Frank Edwards II, Howard Edwards, Fulton Edwards, Louis Edwards, Jessie Edwards, Wilton Edwards, Johnnie Edwards, Horace Edwards, Roosevelt Edwards, Richard Edwards, Clifton Edwards; and one very close cousin James Kincade.

A celebration of life will be held at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service on Friday at 10:00am. A live stream of the service may be viewed at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1644437836165808. Interment will be private.
