Kenneth Wayne Rankins, 86, of Fredericksburg, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2021, after being hospitalized with Covid-19 complications. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley Thomas Rankins and Blanche Stout Rankins Durrette. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Thelma Whitlock Rankins; daughter, Donna Rankins Gourley (Tom); sons, David W. Rankins (Lynn); Michael T. Rankins (Barbie); Mark A. Rankins (Tina). Also surviving are nine grandchildren Jodi, Justin, and Jillian Gourley, Grant and Bennett Rankins, Paige Rankins, and Brandy Miller, Elania and Abby Catlett and two great-grandchildren, Kyla Peterson and Adleigh Rodrigues.
Kenneth was a navy veteran, retired printer, and an extremely hard worker often volunteering to help friends and neighbors in his free time. He enjoyed tending a vegetable garden, woodworking, singing in the church choir, fishing, reading, telling jokes, and bird watching.
Due to Covid restrictions a private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Culpepper National Cemetery.
