

As a teenager, she served as a volunteer in the Salvation Army and played the coronet in the marching band.
LaNealle married her husband, Neil on December 10, 1960. They were married for 62 years. She was a devoted wife and mother. LaNealle nurtured her children and made sure to guide them on the right path in life.
In her professional life, she worked as a working foreman in the billing section of accounting and was also a member of the Teamster’s Union Local 246 at Shenandoah Pride Dairy and retired after 34 years.
LaNealle was preceded in death by her parents, John Nelson Meeks Sr. and Bertie Jeanette Meeks; brothers, John Nelson Meeks Jr., Van Wayne Meeks; sister, Priscilla Jones; and grandson, Jacob Neil McPherson.
She is survived by her husband, Neil McPherson; son, Kevin McPherson and wife, Cindy; daughter, Julie Wagner and fiancé, Ronnie Reynolds; brothers, Philip Meeks, and Mike Meeks; sisters, Janie Wilsher, Naomi Gayle M. Jung, Brenda Meeks, and Sabrina Bowyer; grandchildren, Desiree McPherson, Pastor Benjamin Trimmer and wife, Klaire Trimmer, Emily Wagner, and Rylie Wagner; and great grandchildren, Colton McPherson, Noah Bullock, Kylie Harsley, and Shepherd Trimmer; and “first dog”, Mac.
“She was all I ever wanted, all I ever needed. She was so beautiful to me. She was caring, loving, and compassionate to all she knew and met.” Neil McPherson.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. The family will have a gathering at their home following the service.
