

She was born on February 10, 1949 in Alexandria, VA. The daughter of late Ellis Langford, Jr. and Lena Lucille (English) Langford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Landon Ramsey and a son, James Bartley Ramsey.
Survivors include her daughter, Jamie Ellis Garcia and husband Valentino Garcia of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren: Brooklynn Rose, Briana Jane Thoren, Joslyn Garcia, and Thomas Garcia; four great grandchildren: Chloe, Joseph, Aubree, Mateo; one sister, Linda Langford Duquette of VA; two nieces: Anne Marie Gorman and Angela Christine Pilcher.
Lorna Jane Ramsey was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. She grew up in a Christian home and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church , in Alexandria, VA. She married the love of her life, Thomas Landon Ramsey and also became a member of the Downtown Baptist Church, in Alexandria, VA. She was devoted in her faith to our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1968. Directly after graduating she was employed with the Department of Defense for over 30 years. She began her career with the Joint Chief of Staff at the Pentagon and then later accepted a position with the Department of the Navy in Crystal City, VA. She retired as Head Editor and she received many awards and certificates in recognition of her Dedication and Excellence, over the decades of her successful career at the Department of Defense, while working for our United States Government.
Lorna Ramsey had many friends throughout her life and always looked for the positives and always had kind words to say about everyone she met and came in contact with. She will be remembered for having a most generous and giving heart. She loved all her friends and family tremendously!
The happiest moments of her life were centered around her family and she cherished spending quality time with her daughter Jamie, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg with Pastor Jack Scott officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 2823 King Street, Alexandria, VA
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for friends to attend the service in show of support to the family.
