Margaret Joan “Peggy” Baxter, 74, went gracefully home to be with our Heavenly Father on August 10, 2018. A long-time resident of the Fredericksburg area, Peggy lived as a woman of unwavering faith according to the word of God and as a faithful wife, mother, sister, and friend. While she is dearly missed, Peggy has found new freedom rejoicing with The Lord.
Born and raised in South Dakota, Peggy was the daughter of the late Arnold and Ermina Christensen. She maintained the work ethic of a farmer’s daughter throughout her life and could be found helping others in a variety of ways. Peggy actively served at Fredericksburg Wesleyan Church, as a hospice volunteer, and as a mentor to many. She was artistic in the ways of cooking, piano playing, singing, cross-stitch, and sewing. Later in life, Peggy discovered her great talent for drawing and painting beautiful works of art, many of which can be found in the homes of friends and family -- and on the thousands of hand-painted greeting cards she regularly sent.
Her family includes: her forever loving husband and love of her life, Charles Baxter, her forever loving and beloved children Bradley, Bryan, and Natalie, and her forever loving and cherished eight grandchildren. Peggy and her late brother, Roger Christensen, are survived by sisters Juanita Larson, Gloria Sprung, and Connie Anderson as well as brothers Don and Lowell Christensen. All the kindness, support and prayers for Peggy, Chuck, and their family are greatly appreciated.
Peggy’s colorful and beautiful life will be celebrated on August 18, 2018 at 11 AM. The service is to be held at Spotswood Baptist Church in Fredericksburg.
