Mark Taft Hoskins

He was born on September 26, 1968, in Fredericksburg, VA to John Franklin and Peggy Ann (Mills) Hoskins.

Many people knew him as a loving and devoted man, not only to his family but anyone he was close with. He was an amazing friend and person to lean on, he could always turn somebody’s day around with just a simple phrase. He dedicated his life to building his company Taft Roofing and was able to serve many people in the community. He loved meeting new people and making them smile. He had such a goofy and playful personality, he made it his life goal to make anyone he came across laugh. His children and grandchildren were his life and he made that known, wherever he went he made sure to show them off. There will never be anyone as goofy, sweet, loving or charismatic as this amazing man. Not only was he an inspiration for the people who surrounded themselves around him but he was also a light in our dark times and never failed to make them better. In the past years he often found himself, with a coffee in his hand, enjoying the view of wildlife such as deer, hummingbirds, and squirrels and many more from his front porch of the home he blessed himself with.

Predeceased by his mother, Peggy Ann Hoskins.

Survivors include his father, John Hoskins; five children: Sylvia Mehlfelt (Mike), Ashley Hoskins, Tiffany Bowyer, Brittany Hoskins and Stella Jewell; two brothers: Frank Hoskins (Irene) and Tony Hoskins (Michelle); six grandchildren: Kailee Henry, Taylor Henry, Shawn Henry, Hayleigh Bowyer, Madison Bowyer and Jessyca Blanchard; and one great grandchild, Jadelynn Hoskins. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 12:00 Noon at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA with a visitation being held one hour prior. Burial will take place at Bethel Christian Church Cemetery, 5542 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22551 at 2:00 PM. Please join the family immediately after the burial at the church for a luncheon.
