

Born January 7, 1945, in Harrisburg, PA he was the son of the late Martin B. Witmer Jr. and Marceil Beckwith Witmer.
He was a 1962 graduate of Central Dauphin High School, Harrisburg, PA and a 1966 graduate of Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, VA. He was a member of Harrisburg Masonic Lodge #629, Harrisburg Consistory and John L. Flynn Chapter #277 of the Eastern Star in Goose Creek, SC. He was an active member of Rehoboth Methodist Church, Cottageville, SC where he taught Sunday School along with being the Lay Leader and Lay Speaker. He was formerly Council President and Sunday School teacher for over 20 years at Penbrook Church of God in Harrisburg, PA. “Mr. Ed” was employed in the Health Care industry as a Salesman and Sales Manager for 40 years. He retired from Zimmer Carolina in 2012.
“Mr. Ed” is survived by his wife, Irma Jeanne Raffle Witmer; a son Brion Edward Witmer of Harrisburg, PA; a daughter CaraSue Grabosky & Robert S. Grabosky (son-in-law) of Fredericksburg, VA; 5 grandchildren Jeffery S. Schriener, Elizabethtown, PA: Nicholas S. Grabosky of Oakdale, MN; Justin E. Grabosky of Midlothian, VA; Jaceylin N. Grabosky-Davis of Colonial Heights, VA and Bristol E. Witmer of Enola, PA. He also had 2 great grandsons: Jackson E. Grabosky and Warren R. Davis along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. “Mr. Ed” was predeceased by his wife of 41 years Jeanne L. Witmer and a brother and sister-in-law Dennis E. Witmer and Margaret Witmer.
Services to celebrate the life of “Mr. Ed” will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2 pm at Penbrook Church of God, Harrisburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to Rehoboth Methodist Church, Cottageville, SC, Penbrook Church of God, Harrisburg, PA, The American Kidney Foundation or Hospice Care.
