

The White family announces the passing of their beloved patriarch, Marvin T. White, at his residence in Falmouth, Virginia. Marvin passed away comfortably, surrounded by his family, on April 7, 2025. He was born on April 19, 1945, in Jewel Ridge, Virginia.
Marvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Those who knew him remember a man of quiet strength, steady hands, and a heart devoted to his family. He was a hardworking man whose early years were spent in the coal mines of southwestern Virginia. Later in life, he moved to the Fredericksburg area, where he built a reputation as one of the finest equipment operators in the region.
He was preceded in death by his parents Doug and Gussie White of Richlands, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley White, and their three children: Michael White, Teresa Leblond, and Christopher White. Marvin was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren he absolutely adored: Devin White, Christopher White, Nichole Childers, Tabitha Girtain, Amanda Chewning, Katelyn Caddell, Kevin Childers, Francesca Leblond, Gabriel Leblond, and Jimmy Leblond. He was also blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy White and Roger White both of Richlands, VA; one sister, Wanda Taylor of North Carolina each of whom brought joy to his heart and a smile to his face.
Marvin’s presence in this world was a steady comfort to those who loved him. His legacy lives on through the values he passed down, the stories he told, and the family he cherished more than anything.
A graveside service will be held on April 19 at 12:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. with Pastor Tony Rose officiating. All who knew and loved Marvin are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
A joint Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in honor of both Marvin and his beloved daughter-in-law, Tracy White. Details will be shared with friends and family as plans are finalized.
