

Mary Josephine Sanders, 93, of Fredericksburg, formally of Kilmallock, Ireland, entered eternal rest on March 17, 2014 – St. Patrick’s Day- surrounded by her family in the home of her daughter, Carolyn Brown, where she spent her last years.
Josephine was a WWII war bride, who worked in London bomb factories during the war. She met and married, Thomas A. Sanders, who preceded her in death.
Josephine was an accomplished gardener and expert seamstress winning recognition for her hand sewn quilts and wall hangings. She worked as a volunteer for Mary Washington Hospital and was active in the Church of Christ.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother of three daughters, Jo Ann Nagle of Deerfield Beach, Fl., Carolyn Brown of Fredericksburg, Va., and Margaret Sanders of Markham, Va. The grandmother of 11, great grandmother of four and great- great grandmother of four. Her absence will be felt by all those who loved her and many more.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Quantico National Cemetery.
