Red was born on January 10, 1936 in Rudd Iowa to Irving and Lolabelle Pennell Newton, and is a veteran of the United States Navy. For several years, he also was a co-owner of an accounting and tax business in the Frederickburg area.
Red is survived by his wife of 52 years, Grace; sons, Mark Andrew Newton and wife Lisa, Wade Patrick Newton, and Ira Daniel Newton; daughter, Theresa Newton Jarrells and husband Jeffery; brothers, Doyle and his wife Dorothy, Charles and his wife Jan and Leroy and his wife Carol; grandchildren, Travis and Katelynn Jarrells, Lexi Rogers and Jacob and Hannah Newton. Red is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27th from 6-8 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel 1621 Jefferson Davis Hwy. where a memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 28th at 11 AM.
