Nancy Carolyn Sullivan Combs

She was the first born child to Russell and Mabel Sullivan on December 21, 1946 in Stafford County. Nancy graduated from Stafford High School, received her Bachelor's degree from Old Dominion University, and later her Master’s in Education from Bowie State University. She went on to teach at Spotsylvania County High Schools for over 25 years, in the Business Department, upon her retirement she continued to teach school age children and volunteer at the Fredericksburg Food Bank.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father Russell and brother Larry.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Mabel of Stafford, her daughter, Kelly Combs of Stafford, her daughter, Bonnie Rossi and son-in-law Edward Rossi of Stafford, her two grandchildren, Lillian and Elliot, her brother, Dale Sullivan of Florida and sister, Sherri Sullivan Richardson of Montross.

Nancy was immensely proud of her family, her daughters and grandchildren were the lights of her life. Her dedication and compassion to helping others and her community was unwavering, by her volunteerism at her church, food bank and community events. She prided herself on being an animal lover, her hobbies included reading, walking her dogs, dancing and being a Grandmother. Nancy never met a stranger; her infectious smile, positive attitude and unwavering faith in the Lord will live on in all that have known her.

A memorial service will be held at Ferry Farm Baptist Church, 1 Westmoreland Drive Fredericksburg, VA 22405 Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 4pm with a reception to follow.
