Patricia Combs who I knew at Anacostia High some 65 years ago (she later married and became Patricia Combs Berry, wife, mother than grandmother) was as I recall an attractive vivacious friendly person.
         Although when we graduated in 1961 I traveled and she moved to Virginia and had little knowledge of each other, we 'reconnected' around fifteen years ago when one of Pat's best friends, Jeanne Weaver, helped get a newsletter and reunions for alumnae of AHS going.  
           I think Pat took an active role in communicating with former student friends as well.   Sadly, I did not actually reunite with her but often in our E mails her 'ace boon coon' (good friend), Jeanne would up date me on Pat's life and friends.  Pat obviously was very close to her kids and was a loyal, good friend to Jeanne and others.  
            I think another classmate. Stan Graves, was a good friend of hers and mentioned now and then how both she, Jeanne, and others were doing.  (Stan for over 50 years has lived in Alabama but has a vigorous relation with many chums going back 70 years who are still with us.)
             Pat will remain with all of us as long as we are living and now and then pause and say:  "Speak, Memory."  She will appear quickly with little snippets of her wonderful life animated going back six decades providing memories of distant times to be appreciated and cherished.

I went to Anacostia High School with Pat. The last time I saw her was at a high school reunion at the Dunes Hotel in Ocean City. 

She had a contagious smile and was always nice to be around.

I was saddened to learn that Pat had passed away. Pat was an Anacostia Classmate (1961) and was a good friend. She had signed my 1961 yearbook. I saw Pat at our 55th reunion (picture is attached) and the last time I saw her was at our 57th reunion in June 2018. This reunion included classes from 1959 - 1963 and Pat was very helpful in making this reunion a sucess. Jeanne Garner Weaver had mentioned to me that Pat was now living at an Assisted Living home and Jeanne asked if I would write to Pat, which of course I said yes. I was in the process of writing a letter and was going to include the attached picture and a picture of my family when we had celebrated our grandson's birthday at our beach house on Dauphin Island. Sadly I had not completed the letter for Pat. I send my condolences and sympathies to Pat's Family. I know many AHS classmates will do the same.

Grandma Berry had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special. I will always remember our heartfelt conversations and her comforting hugs. She will always be missed and never forgotten.

My condolence to the family of a wonderful Indian of Anacostia.  A lovely girl and woman and she will always be missed.  Go with GOD.

Pat and I drove up to Ocean City for our 60th Anacostia High School reunion.   We always had so much fun.  Look at the expression on Pat's face!  I'm going to miss her so much.  We were with Diane Richards Beaghan and Pat Plemmons Lambert.
