Patricia Ann Groves

She was the daughter of the late Herman C. Alt and E. Jean Alt.

Patricia was a 1972 graduate of Bedford High School. She joined the US Army in 1975 as a finance specialist and is a member of the American Legion Post 364 in Woodbridge, VA. She retired from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Predeceased by two brothers: Harry C. and Barry W. Alt and an infant sister.

Survivors include two sons: Ted Ingram of Philadelphia, PA and Brian Ingram and wife Connie of Fredericksburg, VA; one granddaughter: Abrianna Ingram of Fredericksburg, VA; one brother William Alt and wife Sandy of Bedford, PA; four sisters: Linda Smith and husband Colin of Norton, MA, Lisa Dethomas and husband Nick of Bedford, PA, Carol Bush and husband Chris of Bedford, PA and Cathy Shoemaker and husband Jeremy of Stafford, VA. Also surviving are three nieces and four nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Spotswood Baptist Church, 4009 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, VA 22408 with Dr. John Reale officiating. Patricia’s family will have a private burial at Quantico National Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Spotswood Baptist Church or Fredericksburg Academy.
