

He was born on July 29, 1974, in Princeton, West Virginia, to Mr. Adrian B. Gillespie and Mrs. Terrelyn M. Gillespie.
As the son of an active-duty Air Force member, he attended elementary schools in San Antonio, Texas, and Kaiserslautern, Germany. He attended Kaiserslautern Middle School and graduated from Kaiserslautern High School in 1993. While there, he was a proud member of the Kaiserslautern High School Raiders Football Team, the Track and Field Team as a discus thrower, and the Raiders Jazz Band. As a percussionist, he earned honors in the All-Europe High School Jazz Band, studying under internationally renowned jazz conductor Jiggs Whigham in Cologne, Germany.
Reginald was raised in the Vogelweh Gospel Chapel community, where he was a member of the Angelic Voices Children's Choir and a percussionist for the Expressions of Christ Youth Choir. As a member of the choir, he had the opportunity to open for Richard
Smallwood during a performance in Ramstein, Germany. The Expressions of Christ Youth Choir also performed during the inaugural year of Euro Disney Paris (now Disneyland Paris) and gave concerts in Holland, England, and Italy at Air Force military bases.
After attending East Tennessee State University, Reginald held various jobs throughout his career. Prior to his passing, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in Northern Virginia and worked as an electrician.
Those who knew Reginald understood how much he treasured being raised in Europe and the many travel opportunities he experienced. Friends and family in the United States will remember that, at one time or another, he would share stories of his travels and experiences abroad.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Adrian B. Gillespie; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gillespie; aunt, Allarue Watson; uncles, George and James Gillespie; cousin, Brad Gillespie; and maternal grandmother, Ms. Jacqueline Perkins.
Reginald is survived by his mother, Terrelyn M. Gillespie; son, Kyzir Gregory; sisters, Amber and Andrea Gillespie; nephew, Kamryn Kelly; cousins, Darrell Gillespie, Brenton Gillespie, Tiffany Gillespie, Thomas Watson, Chance Gillespie, and Daxton Barkley; great-aunt, Mrs. Linda Schofield; and a host of other relatives and treasured friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends on June 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Burial will take place on June 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
