Richard Schwartz

Richard Schwartz passed away Monday, August 8th, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gerlinde Schwartz, and survived by sons David, Daniel, Michael, and daughter in law Melissa. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Aaron, Allison, Aidan, Ashlyn, Dylan, Lilly, and Eva. He was a graduate of Case Western Reserve’s Engineering program and held an MBA from the University of Nebraska. He had a passion for family, Jewish life, and travel and stood on five of the seven continents, slept in a tent on the Serengeti, and took a boat trip down the Amazon River. Most people will remember him as the friendly grandfather who drove the trolley and introduced tourists and locals a like to the history of Fredericksburg. His memory will be a blessing. A memorial service for Richard will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401. Following the funeral service will be an interment at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery, 1902 William Street, Fredericksburg, VA.
