Robert Edward Goffredo Sr., 72, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, in Stafford, Virginia. Born on July 2, 1953, in Glen Cove, New York, to his father, Albert Vincent Sr., and mother, Helen, Robert was a master craftsman, devoted father and grandfather, proud patriot, and a beloved brother and friend.
A proud graduate of Newfield High School, Robert built a lifelong career as a skilled cabinetmaker on Long Island, New York. Known for his expert hands, meticulous eye, and natural gift for mathematics, he brought warmth and artistry into every project he touched. His craftsmanship was more than work—it was a legacy.
Beyond his trade, Robert found joy in the kitchen, the rhythm of rock and roll, the pages of American history, and the companionship of loyal dogs. He was a collector of all things Americana and a storyteller at heart, always ready with a perfectly timed joke and a big, booming laugh that filled the room.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert Edward Goffredo Jr., and his beloved grandsons, Joseph Arthur and Ellis James. He is also lovingly remembered by his stepdaughter, Kimberly Anne, her husband Charles Groffel, and their children, Chad and Jennifer.
He leaves behind his brother, Albert Vincent Jr., and his sons, Albert Vincent III and Shawn; his sister, Patrina, and her husband, William Brace Sr., and niece, Christina; nephews, John Jr. and Jesse, and niece Megan; as well as his brothers Vincent Joseph Sr. and Michael, and their children.
A public viewing will be held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA, on August 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Rd, Chester, NJ, on August 5 at 12:30 PM.

Robert’s legacy is one of strength, laughter, kindness, devotion to his family, and craftsmanship. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit endures in the stories we share, the lives he touched, and the work of his hands.
He joins his father, Albert Vincent Sr., and mother, Helen, brother, John Sr., and nephew, William Brace Jr. They will all be missed dearly.
“The soul of the craftsman lingers in every grain—each joint, each curve, each carving a quiet prayer of presence, strength, and love. In wood, he lives on."
