Robert Lee Hensley

Robert Lee Hensley, age 93, of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Carriage Hill Health and Rehab Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hensley and Lilly Sillex; brother, Joseph Hensley.

Robert was born on August 18, 1931, In Alexandria, Virginia, the son of the late Joseph Hensley and Lilly Sillex. He worked in the Federal Government for over 30 years and served many of those years as an art director for Naval Aviation News. During high school, Robert invited interest from three major league baseball teams and later coached youth baseball leagues for the Department of Recreation in Alexandria.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Hensley; daughters, Donna Exline and Karen Kurland; son, Jeffrey Hensley; grandchildren, Elizabeth Trefry, Julia Amis, Joseph Kurland and Caroline Hensley and one great grandson, Grayden Trefry.

A graveside service for Robert will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) in memory of Robert Hensley.
