

He was born on April 11, 1930 in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, the son of the late Mary (Benoit) Stowell. He was a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant and a Korean War veteran. Upon retiring from the Army, he worked for Navy Intelligence as a computer specialist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (McGhee) Stowell, his son Paul Baldwin, his sisters Ruth Ferreira, Brenda Swain, and Pat Walcha, and his granddaughter Wendy Stine.
Survivors include his sons, Brian Baldwin and wife Kathy Pierce of Manassas, VA, Steven Baldwin and wife Shawn Baldwin of Stephens City, VA; one sister, Sandy Morell ; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In 1956 he stepped into the role of husband and father of three rambunctious young boys. He took them camping, boating, and raised them as his own. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and eventually great grandfather. He was the model of a loving husband and father.
Bob was a deacon and an active member of Salem Baptist Church. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed working on and helping others with computers. For those who knew him, you knew he was quick with a smile and a joke. He loved listening to and occasionally singing along with his favorite songs. You always saw him with a cup of coffee and a sweet treat.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am-11:30am Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA where funeral services will be held at 11:30am with Pastor Dale Seley officiating. Internment will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Salem Baptist Church, 4404 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 in loving memory of Bob Stowell.
