Rosemarie Vera Blakeney

Mrs. Rosemarie Vera Blakeney, age 88, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, September 25 at her home. She was born March 8, 1932 in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of the late Arthur and Louise Binder. She was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Thomas Blakeney, her sister Hannelore Binder and her grandson Jacob Early. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, German tv shows/music and watching the Nationals play baseball. She also loved the beautiful blue waters of the Bahamas and frequently vacationed there. Rosemarie is survived by her four children Linda Early (Jeff), Annette Wise (Billy), Jeanette Chandler (Shane) and Lawrence Hemby, five grandchildren, Jami Nichols (Jeff), Cory Chandler (Ashlee), Aaron Sowinski, Craig Chandler (Erica) and Sam Early (Amos) and also by six great-grandchildren, Devin, Jordan, Tucker, Tanner, Savannah and Josephine. Rose was a strong and proud woman. She is loved by many and will be missed greatly. A special thank you to the home caregivers and the home hospice staff at At Home Care & Hospice for the care and respect that they showed her in the weeks before her death.
