She was a strong support while her husband served for 26 years in the United States Marine Corps. She was a bookkeeper for JC Penny, an artist in her own right with ceramics, decorating cakes, and making everything from wedding dresses for her daughters to Halloween costumes for her grandkids.
Among other organizations, she was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church, the Red Hat Society, and The Good Sam’s Club.
She is survived by her three children, James Roberts II (Carrie), Deborah Marsh (Jeff), and Laura Rodick, along with twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband, James Roberts; her father, Leo Buckley; her mother, Irene Buckley; her sister, Shirley Herbert; and her niece, Teri Ingersoll.
There will be a celebration of life Monday August 24th, 2026 at Hope Presbyterian Church at 11121 Leavells Rd. Fredericksburg, VA.
10:00 a.m. viewing, 11 a.m. service, and a 2 p.m. interment at the Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd., Triangle, VA.
