Sharon Thorn Foley went to be with our Lord and Savior Monday, March 25, 2013. Born in Akron, Ohio in 1948; she later came to reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia where she met and married her husband and traveling partner, Frank Leslie Foley. They loved to explore places like Ireland and South Africa. Ireland holds special memories for them as it was where they decided to spend their lives together. They were engaged on the shores of Clew Bay.
Sharon was many things to many people. She was a wife and partner, a mother, a grandmother and a great friend to all. Her embrace went far and was felt by anyone who met her. She possessed a playfulness that endeared her to everyone. She will be terribly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Leslie Foley of Fredericksburg, her daughter and son-in-law Brandy Spurling Tatum and Troy Tatum of Mechanicsville, her son Timothy Sholley of Arkansas, sisters Mary-Jeannette Dougherty of Florida and Carolyn Murphy of Ohio. Her grandchildren Austin Tatum, Loralyn Sholley, Caleb Sholley and Matthew Sholley.
As per her wishes, there will not be a service but a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad.
May her wings fly her back to her favorite destinations...
