Welby was born in 1968 in Leesburg. He graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1986 and attended Northern Virginia Community College for E.M.T. training. He was an assistant retail manager at National Tire and Battery. He was a former member of Sterling Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife of six years, Anjanette Sowers; son, James Clason; his children from a former marriage, Lindsay and Adam; mother, Anna Sowers; sister, Susann Lusnia (Albert); and father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Carroll Clason.
He was the son of the late Welby Newlon Sowers, Sr.
He was a loving father, son, and husband.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 and Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, Va 22401 where funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Loudoun County.
