He was born on December 8, 1990, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, son of Mary Ann Pinney and Christopher Craig.
Tommy was a hardworking, dedicated man whose life was defined by his loyalty, generosity, and unwavering love for the people around him. His desire to help others started at a young age through his involvement in the Boy Scouts, where he went on to earn the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. That commitment to service and helping those around him remained a defining part of who he was throughout his life.
When he wasn’t at work, you could almost always find him working on a project, lending a helping hand, or spending time with his friends and family. Sitting still was never really his thing, especially when there was something to be fixed, something to be built, or someone who needed him.
Tommy was the person you called when you needed help, and without hesitation, he would show up. His loyalty to those he loved knew no bounds, and he had a way of making people feel they could always count on him. He was known for his tough exterior, quick wit, and sometimes prickly jokes, but beneath that rough-around-the-edges shell was one of the kindest, most genuine souls you could ever meet. His heart was always bigger than he let on, and his actions spoke louder than words ever could.
Tommy had a deep love for the things that brought him joy. His dogs held a particularly special place in his heart, especially Ovi, who shared an unbreakable bond with him, along with Max and Emmie. His love for music, disc golf, and trucks were among the many things that made him who he was. He also had an extensive knowledge of military aircraft, a subject he loved sharing with his stepson, Davin. Teaching Davin about the things he knew and loved was something Tommy took great pride in. He shared so much knowledge with him, and, heartbreakingly, had so much more he wanted to teach him. Those lessons, conversations, and shared moments will remain a lasting part of the bond they built together.
The loss of Tommy is felt far beyond the walls of his immediate family and circle of friends. He touched countless lives through his kindness, his willingness to help, his friendships, and the countless ways he showed up for others. The mark he left on this world cannot be measured, and the memories, stories, knowledge, and love he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
Tommy’s generosity will be felt for years to come. He was an organ donor and he saved the lives of 5 men aged 16 to 70 in his final selfless act. Our family will never cease to be amazed by him.
Tommy’s absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled. There are projects left unfinished, stories left to tell, lessons left to teach, and so many moments that those who loved him wish they could have shared. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
He is survived by his mother Mary Ann Pinney and Stepfather Stephen Pinney; father Christopher Craig; partner Leah Dundon and her son Davin Dundon; twin sister Cynthia Jennings, sister Jessica Corthon and brother Kieran Pinney.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
